Our goal is to provide family support that decreases stress on families while improving outcomes for patients with dementia through tailored dementia care and education, along with personalized guidance.
We offer one-on-one sessions with individuals and families, providing tailored dementia education, emotional support, and personalized guidance. Our Family Guided Support Meetings assist loved ones in navigating decisions, understanding dementia progression, and developing realistic support plans centered on family support.
We believe in collaborative community assistance, working closely with law enforcement, healthcare providers, palliative care teams, and hospice to create a circle of informed, holistic dementia care. Our Journey Meetings—both initial and ongoing—enable us to walk alongside families through every stage of dementia, offering clarity, connection, and comfort.
We conduct facility visits to check in on our patients, advocate on their behalf, and provide thoughtful, transparent feedback to families about their loved ones' dementia care. Our continued outreach and resource connection ensure that families always have access to tools, support groups, and services that empower them in managing dementia.
Grove Groups provide monthly social gatherings for ongoing support, allowing families to build connections with others and engage in meaningful, fun activities related to dementia education.
Unlike programs limited by facility contracts, we collaborate directly with families, ensuring flexibility, independence, and support that is truly centered on the unique needs of each individual affected by dementia.

As the founder and lead dementia care specialist at The Dementia Grove, I bring over 20 years of hands-on healthcare experience and a lifelong commitment to providing dementia education and supporting families on their dementia journey. As a proud Florida native deeply rooted in this community, I have dedicated my career to ensuring individuals living with dementia—and those who love and care for them—never walk this path alone. A personal touch: I married my high school sweetheart, and we have 2 boys. We all enjoy the outdoors, and most weekends are spent boating, fishing, or hunting. I also have a deep love for the western North Carolina mountains and try to visit my family cabin for my mental breaks a few times a year. My involvement in the dementia world began when I stayed with my Gramma and Papa (great-grandparents) as a little girl while my parents worked. My Papa had dementia and Parkinson's. I didn’t understand why he was the way he was, but I watched my Gramma take care of him, and I started to help her. That experience stuck with me and led me to my heart's work—providing personalized guidance in dementia care. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your dementia journey. - Melissa
